Accessory Belt

Hey guys my a/c is going out and don't have the money to replace it right now. So I was just going to by a belt that bypasses the a/c. I have a 04 civic lx does anyone know what size belt I would need? The belt would be running from the engine to the alternator. Thanks.

Re: Accessory Belt

what do you mean by "going out"?

do you mean your a/c does not work?

or your a/c pulley is seizing up and its making noise while it turns?

if there is no noise, just get the standard belt and have it run around the a/c....its just free spinning when the a/c is not on

Re: Accessory Belt

I believe it is seizing up because it makes a dreadful sound every now and then.

Re: Accessory Belt

This was hashed in a thread a week ago. You are welcome to use the search function on this site.

Alt belt for a DX (no AC) is 31110-PLA-E02, about $20 MSRP USD (honest dealer retail) and probably would need to be special ordered.

Also, DangerZone apparently can have it. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...62_0_1527_6774

Re: Accessory Belt

Is the pulley seized? Why not just leave the a/c button off?
Am I missing something here?

Even when it was off it would still make noise. Anyways thanks for the belt suggestions. I did not use that belt though. I measured the size I needed which was around 875mm so I bought a 6 ribbed belt from Napa that is 873mm which fits perfectly. No more squeaking!
