Car jerks when I release clutch in first and second.
Re: Car jerks when I release clutch in first and second.
Yeah that's a good question.
Maybe you're releasing the clutch too fast?
It happenned to me too when I switched cars.
Every clutch is different, even from the same brand, model, since it doesn't have the same wear.

I once had it. Honda was talking about changing the clutch.. It went away on its own for some reason. It started when I was in stop and go traffic for a long time one day..

Yes this happens to my car as well occasionally in pro longed stop and go traffic.
Here's hoe to fix it, get on the interstate at around 75 and 5th gear. Lightly push the clutch in so that it just starts slipping. Hold it there for a few seconds, repeat a few times.
Be careful as this will also cause a LOT of clutch wear very fast if you're too hard on it.

I did not do that, but it may explain how it eventually just went away on its own. I always try to get my foot off the clutch as fast as possible after shifting. I think while I was getting the chatter I instinctively was not engaging the clutch as fast as I usually would to avoid the jerking as much as possible. That may have ground it down because of that.
