2001 Automatic Honda Civic won't start
So my 2001 Honda civic won't start, crank, or turn over at all. Took the car to get checked out. Mechanic told me the starter went bad and there was a short under the dashboard. Replaced the starter but it still won't start, crank, turn over, etc. Can't find were the short is. The rest of the electrical works spark plugs were changed about three weeks ago and the battery tested out fine. Any Ideas?????

What about the cluster lights when key 1st turned to II ?? On ? Dim ?
Anyone inspect the battery terminals/large gauge wire connections as a culprit ?
A short will blow fuses... you may have an open though.
And yes, get someone else to diagnose, otherwise the parts cannon may make another appearance.

If this is over your head, then get a new mechanic. Electrical issues can be tricky especially when it comes to shorts/opens.
Start with the basics.
Check:
-Battery Voltage
-Fuses
-Grounds
