I was wondering if im going to see a significant difference in sound quality and volume if i just swap out the stock stereo with an after-market one. Will it be necessary to get an amp(would like to avoid that)? And if so, should i spend more on the amp or the hu? Budget is around $300 for both, or $200 just for hu.
I have updated speakers and i plan to add a sub in the future(Already have a 2 ch amp for that)

Oh the HU must have 1/8" input, USB and play CD's.
Any stereos u guys recommend?

If you can find an eclipse HU you will be golden. If you go with a sony hu that is 100 bucks new, then no you won't see an increase in SQ. But a higher end HU will yield better results.

Ok, sound quality will increase. But what about volume? Most HU i looked at were rated at 18-22 W rms per speaker, but idk the power output of the stock radio so idk if that would be a big or a negligible difference.
If i get a higher end HU like an Eclipse, would it be considerable louder than my stock radio?
