Cracked EXhaust Manifold on 2001 Civic LX
Hello everyone.
My Civic 2001 LX has a couple small cracks on my exhaust manifold/converter and found out this is pretty common.
A welder friend says he can fix it for 50 bucks, but I am worried it will just crack again.
Another friend who works for Magnaflow can get me a replacement part for 100 bucks.
Magnaflow part number 42092.

I am leaning towards installing the Magnaflow myself because it seems like a quality product.
Plus it is stainless steel so I do not think it would get cracks.
But then I am worried might get a CEL by using an aftermarket manifold/converter.
Would the Magnaflow pass a California smog test?
What would you guys do?
