2001 Civ EX Coupe 1" drop spring options?
2001 Civ EX Coupe 1" drop spring options?
Hi all,
Total Civic (Honda even!) noob here. Just got a used (duh) 01 Civic coupe that's totally stock. I want to put 16" wheels and drop it a tiny bit. Nothing crazy.
I've just spent awhile going through stickies but haven't found much in the way of suggestions for 1" drop springs. (But please hit me with some links if there are some here. I'm sure I missed them.)
I'd like to keep it as cheap as possible. Is there any sort of stock springs I could use (Si, RSX, Or?) or a cheap aftermarket spring? Or something I can source from the junkyard.
Thanks.

I have the NEUspeed springs (red) 1 3/4" drop and i can still fit 18's on that beast. I also have the Koni yellows (dampner adjustable)...just an idea...I have the same car as you...

Hmm... so it looks like the Honda factory perf. springs are what I'd be after based on all these other 1.75" to 2" drop recommendations.
It's been my experience with other car brands, factory stuff is exceedingly more expensive than same-quality (or better) aftermarket stuff. Would that be the case here?
Anyone know the P/N for those springs? Are they good quality with a decent ride?

Thinking outside the box, anyone know if springs from another, smaller car will work?
I'm thinking like a Miata or a Hyndai Accent or something really small like that. Something that could lower my Civic a bit - simply b/c the Civic would be heavier than the car they came off of - but still give me decent, smooth ride quality.

urm, no...
miatas are very different, for example, with the doublewishbone, spring length, spring rates are different from the lever motion ration being different, diff OD/ID, etc, etc. (i have miata, i know about them)
yer better off not doing that if yeh need to ask in here...
