NOOB tokiko blues Qs
Info - I bought a 2003 Civic Si (hatchback) with skunk2 coilovers and blown stock struts (i didnt test drive it i sent someone i "trusted" to buy the car
)
im looking at getting some tokiko "blues". got a quote from a suspension shop for about $1000 including labor. im just wondering what parts i need to buy so i can save some money and then have them install it. and does that seem like a good price for blues + (i think tokiko) struts and labor? part numbers would be a big KUDOS, im a little retarded when it comes to this sh*t.
PS are tokikos pretty smooth? will the car sit at stock height with them?

Re: NOOB tokiko blues Qs
stick with a 1.5-1.7 inch max drop for the spring. the lower you go, the rougher the ride. 1 inch is good for daily driving. eibach is pretty good for spring brands, stay away from neuspeed. for the tokicos, most ppl get em from ebay a set of 4 goes for around $350 if you find them on sale. labor i would say no more than $350 max. remember with this type of mod, you do need aftermarket camber kit (spc or ingalls are good) and an alignment when everything is installed. you may also need various replacement parts when they open it up like tie rods, bushings, top mounts, etc if they are old or damaged. no way to know until the install. im guessing the shop only quoted you for shock parts and labor, which is very high.
Re: NOOB tokiko blues Qs
Take the time to do this install youself and save some money. Changing struts isn't very hard as a matter of fact it's pretty easy. There is a DIY on this site that is very well put together. Like gearbox said, get your Blues off of ebay cheaply. Then install. Upon installation check your compliance bushings, ball joints, etc. They aren't too expensive from honda but you can find them aftermarket aswell, shop around.

Trust me, if you plan on going with Tokico Blue. Good luck with that, those are hard to find. Even on Ebay, they claim that they have it in stock which they dont. I waited for a whole month and they still didnt even ship it out so I decided to cancel it. I got another set coming from a friend. Finally got mine last week.
Im actually selling mine right now cause I decided to sell my car for a 8th gen accord sedan.
Brand New still in box
Price $330 shipped.
