Smile 2000 Engine EX Vtec

Hello everyone,

My 2000 Honda Civic EX Vtec 5 Speed has a problem and I have basic knowledge of car only, so please help.

The car is still running but the problem is there is a sticking sound comes from the engine, like someone uses a hummer to knock there when I hit the gas padle. As I listen closely to it, it comes from the top of the engine. First, I guess that it might be the Valve so I plan to adjust the Valve. I opened the Valve Cover to look at the top of the engine but I didn't see anything wrong there and I didn't see anything difference either. My friend told me that it might be the Rod, Block, or Bearing but he's not sure either, so please give me any subjection or advice. I really need help.

Thanks

engine noises are one of those things you have to hear first hand to know where to start and properly diagnose it could be many things. also if your knowledge of cars is limited I highly advise against you adjusting the valves yourself incorect and overadjusted valves can cause damage to the valve train.

stop at a mechanic like anyone would do and get a opinion/diagnosis, duh!
you don't need to do the service in there, just the diagnosis. Duh!

You are welcome, that was simply to answer. Duh!
If it sounds suspicious diagnosis, come back and ask. If sounds right just ask to have the job done or diy (from internet you sounds like: what color is my nut sack? Answer: how The heck would I know without a picture?!?...) Obvious questions gets obvious answers. Duh!!!
