Stiff Throttle Body Spring

Are there any OEM or aftermarket return springs for the throttle body to decrease the tension in the gas pedal?
Symptoms: Stiff gas pedal
Diagnosis: Checked pedal linkage-OK. Removed throttle cable to test free-play movement within the cable housing itself and the result was fairly smooth. This leads me to think that the return spring for the butterfly valve on the throttle body is too stiff. Any input?

Re: Stiff Throttle Body Spring

spray silicone on the throttle plate and also on the throttle cable reel where the wire goes around. my pedal is super soft compared to other cars.

Re: Stiff Throttle Body Spring

I will try using some silicone, any specific type? Also, I did apply some generic greases around the end of the cable fitments in effort to lubricate the inner part of the throttle cable, perhaps this was a bad decision as I realize that grease attracts debris and will ultimately counter-act the process of lubrication. If the cable itself is fairly cheap, how difficult is the process of replacing one? Looks pretty straight-forward from atop view, but then the cable plunges down below the engine into what looks like the firewall leading to the pedal assembly.

Re: Stiff Throttle Body Spring

they have silicone lube in a spray can something like crc brand. replacing the cable can be a pain, and generally it will not get stuck inside since there is a protective cover and boots on each end to prevent dirt from getting in. usually its not the cable.
