In Dash Navigation for 2011 DX
In Dash Navigation for 2011 DX
Hey guys,
Just joined the forums. I'm from Calgary, AB, Canada and just purchased a 2011 Civic DX. I was thinking about getting an in-dash GPS/Navigation system installed and was wondering if anyone knew of any good after market ones or whether honda dealerships can install one for you. Any help would be appreciated!!
Thanks,
-Muxit

I have a Pioneer that I purchases a few years ago that I am pretty happy with. What exactly do you want yours to do besides just gps? (Bluetooth, xm etc)
Re: In Dash Navigation for 2011 DX
Recently I installed a Kenwood DNX9980HD in my 2011 Civic GX, which is at the level of a LX for interior equipment. This Kenwood has all the features I desired, such as HD radio, satellite radio, GPS, Bluetooth, rear backup camera, etc. I purchased it from an online retailer named Crutchfield.com, which sells after-market radios. They included good instructions on how to install the equipment yourself and will tell you by their website which equipment should fit your vehicle. I spent an entire weekend hooking up the equipment. If you haven't done this before, one thing is to make sure you have the proper tools to do the job. The tools include screwdrivers, soldering gun, wire cutter/stripper, wire-taps, electrical tape, and a dash prying tool. A radio installed from a Honda dealer is always an option but typically it will cost more for both the audio equipment and labor to install it. If you want to save some money and probably get a better radio, you should do it yourself. But if you haven't done this before and you are not mechanical inclined, then you might want to have the dealer install it or get a radio from an after-market car audio shop and have them install it.
