89 Civic fuel pump fix

Can anybody tell me how to replace the fuel pump on 89 civic? Not to sure the model. Its a friends car. Are they in the fuel tank on all models? Thanks!!

You have to drop the tank. Go here for just the fuel pump: http://www.rockauto.com/ otherwise you'll have to pay $400 for the whole assembly at the dealer. Make sure to replace the fuel assembly gasket and the fuel filter (in the engine bay) also.
