intermittent rough idle....stall
Hi: I have a 1991 civic 2 door hatchback that generally runs well but every now and then it will start idling very rough and it's hard to keep it runing. If it stalls it may not start again. (it does turn over) The next day it will start up like nothing happened. I have had in the shop but they say they can't diagnose it unless it's runing bad. I mentioned "the relay" and they said if that was faulty it would kill the engine. In anycase....what could it be? Any ideas. Where exactly is that relay located? is it expensive or even available?
Thanks
Thanks
Re: intermittent rough idle....stall
Check the ecu for codes, by idling rough do you mean it spits and sputters or it idle's too low? Main fuel relay is located on the drivers side of the car, between the fuse box and the door, almost directly behind the change drawer. costs $100 and it is available, best way to know for sure is to see whether this problem occurs only when the car is hot and if it stops when the car is cooled down
