I have 2 newbie ?'s :)
Ok.. I just got an indiglo H emblem and I want to hook it up to my back lights so it'll glow whenever my lights are on.. What part of the light do I need to hook that up too?? Also the box has 3 wires.. red, white, black.. Where to I hook the black (ground wire) up to to ground it??
Also how do you remove the door trim so you can paint it? Also the A/C vents?? Do you have to remove your whole dash just to get those vents out??
LOL.. Anyways any help would be appreciated
Thanks,
Thomas.

Well, the best thing to do is to take a test light and see what wire is hot when the lights are on..not when the brake light is lit, and that will be the wire. Good luck!
Also, do you have pics of the light and what does it fit into the existing holes nice? Thanks!

Wire the ground to the black wire and then there should be a red wire with a yellow stipe on it. Tap the other wire into that any wire that is red with a yellow stripe goes on with ur parking lights/headlights. (ont he right side at least.)

I believe bobbyd is talking about using this simple tester that allows you to check for hot, cold, and ground wires. You could also use a voltmeter to do the job. I'm not sue about the ground wire though? I think it depends on where you're going to tap the power from. All the ground wires usually just go to the chassis, right? Also, the ground wire is also just a precautionary measure to prevent shorts from damaging that indiglo light.
The trim pieces I'm not too sure of either? You'll have to do a search for an answer to that question. I haven't taken mine out yet, at least not the ones you're thinking about. The air vents should come out by themselves without having to take out anything else, but I'm not sure how? I haven't looked into it. I have taken off the door panels and the rear deck though, so if you have any questions on those then ask away.

I am also talking about the back. If you open up your trunck on both the left and right side you will see 2 plastic circles unscrew/fasten thoughs inorder to get at the wiring to your taillights. The wiring to the side light and the big light should be the same color. Splice your wire to one of those and any ground.
The A/C vents just pop out. Use a small flat head screwdriver to GENTLY pry out near top or bottom edge (your choice). Wrap the tip in a towel to help prevent marring the dash. Once you can get a finger hold on the edge, you can pop those puppies out. Just be careful not to scratch or dent the dash.
As far as the door trim, use the DIY for installing front speakers on this web site. Just a few screws and clips and the door panels come right off... which pieces of the door trim are you going to paint?

I installed a glowing Honda emblem on my trunk lid on my 2001 civic EX coupe. I wired it in to the license plate light so when i turn my lights or parking lights on it also turns on.. I had a problem with the prongs they didnt line up... I had to drill the holes a little bigger to allow a good fit .. Then i stuck the emblem on and siliconed the the inside of the trunk lid where the holes are so no water will enter .. So far it works just fine.....looks cool too..
