I have a 2001 si(canadian) manual, I recently diagnosed that i have a bad input shaft bearing and i realized that i have had this problem since i got the car 2 years ago. My concern is that 70% of the time when i stop at lights or signs my car idols roughly and almost stalls out but is fine once i start moving again. can this problem, be caused by the transmission from driving too long with a bad input shaft bearing? i thought i could have bee my iac so i cleaned it out and did an idol relearn but the problem remains. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

also, i forgot that sometimes when im driving at a consistint speed the transmission at random times gives a kick, it feels like an auto trans shifting. should i be concerned with all these problems?

This is just my opinion and its not expert by any means. But I was told my input shaft bearing is going/gone, and that's why it makes a bit of a rough noise in 1/2nd gear and why it idles rough at low speeds (obvisouly). This is what my mechanic had told me... He also said the bearing wont get any worse then it is, and it's almost 1k to fix it on my 04 civic si... he said don't worry about the bearing....
