as the title said,i'd like to know if someone did this before and what would the max depth be? any help would be greatly appreciated i got a 2001 sedan

7" speakers? 6.5" is the biggest to my knowledge unless you have 8"mid bass speakers. From my history as an installer, power windows or non? tougher with power. If you are puttin in good speakers your magnet depth will be big. Most civics come with a factory spacer but its not enough. You can make a thicker spacer yourself from high dens wood. Keep an eye on the glass when installing! I have seen it shatter.

yep even done a full 8 inch sub in the door keeping the stock front panel..my car is a 03 civic.. now after cutting out the metal the skin was pretty week so i placed a piece of 5/8 plywood cut out about 10 inches by 14 inches through the top of the door.(down the window track) then once it was where i cut out the metal, i just bolted it in with stainless screws... then dynamat extreme. and rock and roll.... but the door vibrated to beat all hell... just couldnt get the plastic to stop vibrating.. even layered the plastic door with a full treatment... so i had two layers on the inside of the door, two layers on the outside of the door and one layer on the plastic of the door... no use.... this sub was xover from 65 to250hz.

^^^nice, i always thought it would be to big as it took quite some effort to get my 6.5" in that tiny space. I suppose the depth of the magnet should also be taken into consideration.

ya thats why i went with the earthquake sws 8s very very shallow and hit hard...
