New Cams

I searched for like 2 hours and wanted to know will any dohc cams fit on our civic and if not then which companies make new cams? I was thinking the the older si 98-00 cams should fit. Any help is appriciated. I wanna port and polish but i wanna see if i can get new cams first. Thanks

No, the old cams may just fit right on there but they won't work, it's a different engine, I wouldn't try that. AEM makes the part, AEM Cam Gear, check out the parts section, later- joe

Wouldnt you rather have an aftermarket cam instead of a stock one. Last time I checked, most were not as much $$$ and gave better performance gains.

the dohc cams cannot work on our car. we have a sohc vtec motor so the camshaft has intake and exhaust lobes. on the dohc motor there are obviously 2 camshafts and one has intake lobes while the other has exhaust lobes. Check out Linck'd, they have a port and polish package (~1,650) that includes a new camshaft

If anyone wanted to try something, try to a head swap with a B16A2 or B18C - assuming you want V-tec. Who knows, it might work.

Gude (Bullfrog) has cams for our car. They're not on their website though, you'd have to call them.

ASWzero and bluebullet.....you cannot but a B series head ( the head contains the cam(s) )on a D block motor. it will not fit. you may try to put an old D head on a block...that might work but i dont think anyone is trying it although it has been discussed here before. i believe the only D series engine with a DOHC is a late eightys integra, someone wanna verify that for me?
