Re: hey

oh yeah i did that and when it said to fill with water and let rn for 45 mins thats when i noticed it was producing the white foam, then i flushed the hole system with water again, then did a 50/50 mix and still, i think it is a seeping head gasket cuz i am slowly losing water and there seems to be a water drip out the tail pipe.. but that was on a cold start and havent been able to let run since ive been busy.. but thanks for the advice maybe ill go buy some new stuff instead of using the crap i had in the basement lol

Re: hey

The white stuff could just be from the cleaning agent. Did you flush the cleaning agent out after REALLY REALLY GOOD? If you didnt this will happen. Disconnect your upper radiator hose from the block and put a garden hose to it. Then uncock your radiator and let the water flow until it is crystal CLEAR. Then use some good coolant, most people would say use Honda and thats what I use as well, but just use anything that is name brand at least.

Do you overheat?

If you do and you think its your headgasket you can buy a Combustion leak detector or take it to a mechanic and ask to have it done. The kits are online for like $50. It looks like this http://www.arrowheadradiator.com/hea..._leak_test.htm

To me it sounds like if your radiator cap is leaking you need to replace it. Does your upper radiator hose feel harder once your car has reached operating temperature?

Re: hey

it only over heats after it loses enough water.. then i refill it and it cools down just fine... i did a garden hose in it both ways fr about 10 mins each... and i took the rad out and did it both ways about 10 mins each too... i have autozone coolant, i didnt know there was a big difference lol, still havent let it run for long enough to see if it was leaking water or it was cold start... it was over heating because the fan motor was dead and my sisters boyfriend tried to replace the thermo housing and broke it, so i replaced it and the fan motor and it ran fine for about an hour before i did a rad flush.. i only did it cuz it sat for so long with no water hoses on and was trying to clear any rust out since im in WA.. but i just used the $2 crap at schucks.. ill put some new coolant in it and ill hit up napa and get the kit thanks for the advice!!!!!

99% sure its the head gasket.. after re-flushing with water and filling full of good pre-mixed coolant it smoked even worse and still got bubbles, ran it for 30 minutes and it got to operating temp. and it was still smoking really bad.. at least the gasket set is only $100 and i have the know how and tools to do the job myself, just dont have a garage so ill be doing it in the rain grr lol
