08 Civic SI Sedan - want to increase MPG???

Is there any sort of TUNE available for this? I am looking to Improve Economy. I know you guys will think I am nuts but I don’t race or anything. I enjoy the cars looks and handling but would gladly trade a few HP for more MPG. I was wondering if there is a tune or anything available that will help to increase your MPG? Thanks in advance for your Help. Arkangel77

Yes... and it costs $1000. Its called K-pro, you can tune it yourself, or take it to a shop. Look around on clubrsx for future questions. Also search on 8thgencivic.com... do not start a thread.

when your on the highway ride the *** of a big rig so there is less drag. when you go down hill shift into neural . dont drive with the windows open.i also hear a intake gives you better mileage but im not 100 percent positive .and the way you drive dramatically effects gas mileage.

The easiest and most effective way is smooth, slow, starts from a stop. Use 87-89 octane fuel, change your air filter to a higher flow one, and keep your car tuned.

Lol trade with my civic...I have never went below 32mpg even driving like an idiot. Seriously tho If I had an SI I would be getting major bad gas mileage, that poor K20 deserves to get rev'd high.

Re: 08 Civic SI Sedan - want to increase MPG???

You can get either Cobb Accesport or Hondata Flashpro to tune your car with. Flashpro has like 32 pre-loaded tunes to flash your car with, and Accessport has like 8 or there abouts. Both can be taken to a tuner and custom tunes done. (I think accessrace is out now...) Both are available for $700

I know people are claiming high 30's or even 40 on the highway using the Cobb Accessport.

I think that people are getting about the same or slightly worse gas mileage with flashpro.

the gas pedal is the biggest determining factor of how much mpg you get. having a heavy foot vs light foot can mean the difference between 15 or 30 mpg.

DO NOT listen to this guy because of what i made bold. Si's are supposed to be premium only (91 octane) K20's are high compression engines. Read the manual. Other than that, yeah he's right.
