Nothing Happened

Well I lowered my car this Saturday,or at least I thought I did.I bought some 1.5inch drop springs called MIRacing.I put them in and my car is still fairly high. The ride has stiffened up but that is it.Will these springs settle down or not? Do I need to buy some other brand? HELP.......

Re: Nothing Happened

are you sure you put the front springs on the front and the rear on the rear? If so you just need to ride on them some. They are new so they will be real stiff.

Re: Nothing Happened

Springs take time to settle. I think up to a week, someone can correct me on the time.

Re: Nothing Happened

They could also not be seated right or be upside down. Is there any writing on the spring jacket that you can read? It should be right side up. Also you have have needed to modify the bump stops on your factory shocks. I hope you bought a camber kit and got a wheel alignment as well or you'll be making another thread in 2 months about faulty tires wearing too fast and all your rear end suspension parts rattling to hell.

What do you mean buy or how do I modify my bump stops on my shock? When I was putting the springs on I pushed the shock down and it then pushed up to the stock height. They are seated right and are in right side up.They would only go one way,top is to wide for bottom. It handles better just didn't drop.

Re: Nothing Happened

Give it time. Your cars weight will make the springs drop. They are real stiff and need to work themselves down from the weight.

Did you read the instructions for installing them? Some springs require the bump stops on the stock struts to be modified. They're usually pretty high to stop the car from hitting too low because of how bouncy the springs are. When you put in a different spring, you can cut the bump stop in half so the car won't hit until it gets to a lower point. It should look like a rubber cup on the end of your strut. Check and see if these need to be modified with your application.
