Raise your clutch peddle?
Here's my current thinking: Those of you with a manual should adjust your clutch engagement to as high as possible, or more on the high side. Not only does this offer quicker shifting, but it reduces spring wear on the pressure plate as you are not pressing it in as much for each shift. Working a spring through it's range is the quickest way to wear it out. If your engagement is Honda spec (1-2 inches from the floor) the spring is simply worked too much unnecessarily, which will eventually result in a weak PP lockup causing pre-mature chatter. As you guys know, riding the clutch will also wear out the spring.
Another advantage is the lockup itself. With the pedal engagement higher up, the lockup is more abrubt/sudden. That is to say that the engagement zone will only be say... 2 inches, whereas Honda-spec gives you roughly a 3 inch zone in between and unlocked and fully locked PP. (those aren't real numbers, just throwing them out) Having a smaller zone increases the likelyhood that the driver will over-engage the PP during shifting rather than under-engaging and slipping the clutch, thus the clutch should last longer.
