99 Civic lx wont start
99 Civic lx wont start
Hey guys got a problem I hope someone can help me with.
My wifes Civic was running fine the other day and the next day it wont start. Turns over fine just wont start.
Im about at my witts end and really dont know where to go from here.
It has 200K on it and I keep it maint relly well.
So anyhow heres as far as Ive gotten.
Changed plugs (044 gapped)
fuel filter, rotor cap, air filter
checked fuel pressure 32psi w/in specs
checked fuel regulator with mini vac when vacuum applied fuel pressure drops
checked main fi relay for voltage while hooked up then unhooked and went through all the jumper tests while checking continuity everything checks out fine
pulled backseat fuel pump getting voltage for 2 seconds when key turned then 10 to 12 volts while tuning over motor
noid lights on the injectors all check out.
Not sure where to go from here...any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
Eric

Re: 99 Civic lx wont start
Here's what my manuals suggests:
Fuel tank empty ^_^
Battery discharged (engine rotates slowly)
Battery terminal connections loose or corroded
Leaking fuel injector(s), faulty fuel pump, pressure regulator, etc.
Fuel not reaching fuel rail.
Ignition components damp or damaged
worn, faulty or incorectly gapped spark plugs
Broken, loose or disconnected wiring int he starting circuit
Loose distributor is changing ignition timing
Broken, loose or disconnected wires at the ignition coil or faulty coil.
I had a startup issue about a year ago. The negative cable on the battery wasn't clamping properly, and the battery was somewhat weak. Why didn't you change your rotor and wires too? You should have done it all. Check your rotors condition. Make sure the plugs are pressed in fully.
I know you said you're getting good spark, but still. If it's not that, then it's a fuel issue. Is your gas cap on?
