window regulator pooped out....searched but have question
Hi there,
I found a couple of good teks for removing the door panel and window regulator, but the regulator tek assumes you can move your window in order to get to the bolts at the bottom of the window. My window is stuck and I cannot get to the bolts. They are hidden behind the inner metal panel. I guess I could drill a couple of holes through the inner door frame/panel to get to the bolts, but I wanted to ask about any other possibilities.

Thanks in advance

Is it stuck in the bottom? can you here the window motor running? I made a DIY for removing the window regulator, maybe it can help u out...Its in my signature
Re: window regulator pooped out....searched but have question
yeah dude...it was your tek I followed!
But yeah, the window is almost all the way down and stuck so I don't have access to the bolts that need to come out.
The window will go down further, but not up.
what now?

Have you tried briefly putting voltage directly to the motor ? (unplug the 2 pin connector on door 1st)
See if the motor will move up then. You may have to reverse applied voltage.
No way to access bolts with a wrench ??

try pushing up on the window as it goes up. It might have tilted a little to the side so it might need some straightiening to go up. Thats probably why its stuck
Re: window regulator pooped out....searched but have question
Well, I got the window out. Thanks Wally and Craig.
But I have a new problem.
The motors are flip-flopped top to bottom, and when plugged it rolls up when the down button is pushed and vice versa.
Other than that it installed just fine.
Did I get a passenger side regulator?

That is really weird. It sounds like a wiring problem to me because i dont think its possible to install a window regulator from the passenger side door to the driver side door because then the regulator would have to be upside down to fit, and the window would not sit flush on the slider. If i were you id check the connections, and if still does the opposite you could try to change the polarity on the motor wires.

yeah that's what the autoparts guy and I came up with. He has another on order to check that. Oh well, at least my window will roll up now.
Alright folks....thanks alot. I'm out.
