Re: Trunk Vent
usually the car audio guys use dynamat, but be sure to prep the surface clean first and use a heat gun and roller to make sure you get a good bond. use overlapping pieces. like cover it with a small piece, then put a bigger piece. you can even put dynamat from the outside too. that stuff is like tar and will never leak water. other than that the only other foolproof solution is find a piece of thin metal (stainless steel) and sand the edges down to make it rough. then also sand the area of the trunk metal surrounding where the metal plate will go. buy some metal epoxy putty and use it to glue the metal plate over the hole. make sure you do the sanding, cause the epoxy doesnt stick too well to smooth surfaces. that will never come apart anymore. once the epoxy sets, spray the exterior side of the metal plate with a few coats of rubberized undercoating.
