Need Help, leak from ignition coil

Today when I went to add some windshield washer fluid I noticed a stain on the cylinder cover around one of the ignition coils, It appears it could be a leak. I'm not sure what I'm dealing with here, since this is the place where I wouldn't expect to see a leak. I have attach a photo. Any suggestions?

Odd. Did you spill coke through your swiss cheese carbon fiber hood? Probably not... Pull the coilpack out and see if the spark plug tube is filled with oil. It shouldnt be, but if it is you must have cracked your head some how.

If your lucky its just some fluid from a sloppy oil change that didnt get cleaned up. Also pull up the wire cover and make sure there isnt anything under that.

A friend of mine says it could be a worn spark plug tube seal ont he valve cover. does that sound right?

Re: Need Help, leak from ignition coil

i had the same problem with moms 92 accord. it was the valve cover gasket (well actually the spark plug round seal) letting oil in. it starts at the bottom of the plug but it will get to where you will see liquid oil in the ignition coil itself. on this engine it was only a few inches from the top of the hole. so im sure it could eventually blow out like your pic shows. its not a super urgent problem but definately look into fixing it and then get new plugs too. you need a full valve cover gasket set including the actual cover seal and the plug seals. but just to be sure its not spilled oil from outside, take the coil out and see if there is any oil inside the tube.

Put your finger in the substance and taste it to see if its oil or coolant. Def looks like the spark plug tube seal is leaking.

Re: Need Help, leak from ignition coil

Pulled out the coil pack & didn't see any oil or anything unusual in the tube, I carefully cleaned the stain around the tube opening on the valve cover & will continue check it to if it reappears.
