What is the point of relocating your tiny weeny 13" doughnut, when your other rims are like 17 or 18??? Man if you blew a tire and put that little doughnut on there, talk about screwing up your car, especially the alignment. Call a tow truck!

i had a flat in my ride and used the spare. It worked fine and i have had no problems. Also even with 17" rims if you got low profiles theres not much differnce in the size of it compared to the factory tire. So the spare would work just fine.....But if you have that kinda money where you can call a recker for a flat more power to you.

no kiddin - spare tire is worth it, it's designed to take the stress for 30-50 miles. the point of having it is so that you're not stranded with a flat someplace awful and have to wait for the tow truck. and tow trucks are expensive, the spare came with the car. when the time comes, you'll be thankful you had it.

Im with Kori. What if you dont have a cell phone and have a blow out on some freeway in the middle of nowhere?...then you're probably gonna need the spare. I dont feel like spending all that money just for a tow truck to take me to Discount or Midas and then spend more to have the tire fixed or replaced.

<< theres a solution for you all, goto target and buy a "fix a flat in a can" hehe i used it once and it got me to a gas station for some tire repair, and all for 3 bucks! >>
Woa, I heard Fix a Flat is the last thing you want to use. That's just what I heard. Not because it does'nt work but because it does something to your tire.
well here for everyone If you look at 2k1civc.com car he has hs tire under the car like a truck now i would love to know how in the heck he did that i would love to do that so i can put my system in my spare tire well. 2k1civic if you see this please email me or soemthing to let me know how you did that.
Well i hope everyone is aware that if you have a flat on your car in the front, you should tkae of the rear, put it to the front then put the spare on the rear. Even only a few miles with a doughnut on the front of a front wheel drive car can really screw up the alignment.
Redline01: I'm not 100% sure about this, but I thought that there wasn't enough room for a full size spare under the car, and if there is, I think that it would be real tight.
if anyone knows for sure let me know.

<< Or you could just mount one of the stock tires under the car (assuming you have aftermarket rims) and use one of the old tires as a spare. >>

Unless you put something far away from the stock size (not people running 215/45/17s or 205/40/17s) the spare will work fine front OR rear. It's not meant for racing on though, but it will get you out of being stuck somewhere - nurse your baby home!
As far as mounting it under... as far as I figure, it will be a damp rainy night when I need that spare and I'd rather not have to crawl under the car and unbolt it in the mud. Flat tires never happen when its convienient.

These are all very good practical ideas... but when you get down to it, most of us when modding take practicality and toss it out the window. It makes things so much easier and look better
Best advise, leave your car bone stock and keep it under 65mph
But for the under car mounting, nobody has posted a DIY, out of respect for Derek and keeping the origionality.
I'm not saying it's hard, just use your imagination. Take everything out of your trunk make some measurements, do the math.

stock rims, plus need teh airspace for the stereo......
Fix-a-flat is not good. Especially if u leave it in the tire too long. When i used to be a mechanic at a tire store.. it was b!tch to clean it and it smelled like ****. It also corrodes your tire if its there too long. It weakens the rubber and such...
