DIY relocating HU
i was looking at EvilTwin's ride when i saw his headunit relocated.. so i'll give him credit for his idea.... since i saw his headunit relocated first. anyways for those who want to relocated there HU i thought i'll share some basic DIY for it
1) take the panel with the cigarette lighter off. on my 2k2 i removed the panel where the emergency break is first in order to get to that panel.

2)after doing that measure the amount of panel u wanna cut off on where the cigarette lighter is located. i used like a Soldering iron tool which cuts rite thru plastic. try to make it neat as possible. after doing that u'll put everything back making it look like this.

few things u got to remember.. which i realized after i cut the panel off.. so i figure i let u guy know before u make the same mistake as me. in order for ur HU to fit nice and perfect u HAVE to cut the metal panels in side . actually its one metal frame .. not sure if u guys wanna cut them . if u do not cut them ur radio will stick out like mines and like eviltwins. i'll be cutting them this week so i'll show u guys how the HU looks when the frame is cut.
second save the cigarette lighter adaptor just in casue u wanna relocate that too. that also will be done this week.

put the radio in connect all the wires and there u have it .. reclation of ur head unit

also make sure that u measure the rite amount so that ur cup holder lid can open and close (2k2 civics)

i know i didn't make it to clear but just ask me and i'll clear things up better. i'm not gonna put a screen in the empty slot. i figure i'll put a dvd player and a in-dash screen.

i am also going to move my heater controls to the headliner and install an lcd screen, then i will move the headunit down. i want to put accessory guages where the dials used to be. where the buttons used to be i want to make custom switches for neons, nos and.... sumthin more. i found a doner 01 sedan to get extra dash trim parts in my area too!
