queston about LCA's mounts/bushings.
queston about LCA's mounts/bushings.
my front suspenton is making a clunk when ever i tap the gas or let it off. even changing gears (MT) makes this clunk and i can feel it in the stering wheel and watch the tach pulse with the clank.
so today i put the car on jackstands and looked to see any thing obvious.
this is what i found:

#12 on the passenger side is totaly riped. i can move it up and down manualy. the driver side is riped but still intact. mabye 2/3 way torn. could i have damaged #13 too?
is this a imidieate repair or can i wait a few weeks till i have the monney to fix it propaly? i was quoted $120 per side (private shop [very close famaly friend; we trust him and vice versa])
what should i do? i'm a electrical expert not a grease monkey and i dont want my suspenton flying out from under the car when i hit a pothole on the road.

get the ES bushings! best mod ever and the last time you will replace em. if theyre moving, thats bad. get it done asap. it affects steering performance and alignment. which reminds me, once you change the bushings, you need an alignment lol

You will get both bushings in the set, but number 13 does not have to be changed. It is more solid than number 12. But if you have the LCA out, might as well do it.

If you dont have the money, you can take them out and fill them with RTV silicone, wait for them to dry, and then pop them back it. Its basically a homemade poly mount. It will let you put off buying the ES mounts, but the downside is you have to take everything apart twice.
