Advice on 150,000 checkup
Advice on 150,000 checkup
I just hit 150,000 miles and I'm not sure exactly what I should get done, checkup-wise. I want it to last at least another 50,000 miles - any advice on maintenance I can get that will keep the car going?
Thanks in advance!

well nothing is really related to that mileage. everything should be done on a need-to-do basis. brake fluid every 3 yrs, coolant every 3-5 yrs, trans fluid every 30k or sooner, timing belt every 90k, brake pads/rotors when needed, valve adjustment every 100k or when needed, plugs when needed, oil when needed, air filter, etc. but other than the obvious, just check around to make sure major parts are working like intake, header, exhaust, cat, suspension components like bushings and tie rods and sway bar links, stuff like that.

i heard that some vehicle manufacturers suggest doing valve adjustments every 30k miles. if you know how to do it yourself thats what i would do.... it isnt very difficult and it will make your car run a lot better. all you need for a valve adjustment are some feeler gauges, a 19mm socket, a 10mm wrench and a screwdriver. if you havent yet check the valve adjustments!
