Oxygen Sensor - Need advice!

Hey,

I have a 2005 Civic Reverb (CAN model) and I just got the dreaded 'engine-icon' indicator light on my dash. Turns out my O2 sensor is gone. The kicker is that the car is 3yrs old and only has 65K kms on it --> the warranty is 3 yr/60K.

The sensor is going to run me upwards of $300. Can I safely drive with a faulty sensor, or no sensor at all? Will my fuel mileage or performance be affected? I'd do a more thorough search on the net, but I just don't have the time.

Thanks!

You could drive it like that for a while but you risk damaging your cat convertor. id see if maybe you can pick one up from a salvage yard and hope that its good.

Or call Honda customer service. Sometimes they will pay some especially when it's not that far out of warranty.

My a/c went out on my car in it's 5th year and they paid half the parts and labor on the $1200 bill. It's worth a shot.
