Fog Lights on 8th gen coupe
Fog Lights on 8th gen coupe
Ok I just bought some JDM fog lights from Ebay for $65 shipped, I think this is a pretty good deal considering that the factory honda ones are $300. I was wondering what I need to know to install these, I am a little worried about putting the switch in the dash and how to actually bolt the fog lights onto the car. I think I can figure out the wireing. Any suggestions would be helpfull.
The lights should be here within a week.
Thanks.

Re: Fog Lights on 8th gen coupe
How do the plastic place holders pop out? and what panels do I need to remove to run the wires? I was gonna put it where the stability controll on the SI is, to the left of the steering wheel.

that is what I got, it looks like it has good brackets to mount them with and some decently made wireing harnesses.

Re: Fog Lights on 8th gen coupe
Remove the bumper
Cut holes in bumper with SHARP utility knife, but mask around the foglight holes first
Install fogs/brackets into backside of bumper
Foglight harness - Plug it into the fogs, the other end has a 1-pin plug and a loop for ground. The loop is grounded to the chassis right up front on an existing bolt (youll see it when you have the bumper off), the tricky part is locating the 1-pin connector ON the honda, I suggest taking off a few pop rivets found on the passenger side spalsh guard (after tire removal).
Then youll see a brown 1-pin connector hidden up in behind the washer resevoir, Plug it into the fog light harness!
Once this is done install your bumper back onto the car.

For the next part (under your dash) PM me for details!

Re: Fog Lights on 8th gen coupe
Hey i might be having the same problem, idk. I have a 07 civic ex coupe, and i got some JDM fog lights. I got through all the steps until the last couple using an OEM honda instructions manual. It says something about a white/red terminal and a blue one, but i don't have a blue one. is this because its JDM and is there anyway to still install it with this? or is this something wrong with the light wiring?
Re: Fog Lights on 8th gen coupe
Emerican, I am haveing the same problem. I have no clue what to do about it. I think I am going to try to hook up just the red/white wire and pray that it works. I am hoping that the blue wire is somthing a little bit unessesaarry. I let you know how that goes tomarrow. Did you have a prolem with the brown connecter in the right fender? Mine wouldnt go together and I hade to bend the metal clips inside the female end to get it to fit.
Re: Fog Lights on 8th gen coupe
To answer your question, when you get to the final wireing harness. You need to put the red/white wire into where it says in the instructions, then plug one of the blue connectors in above the fuse box. Then hook up the other connectors and the ground like in the instructions. Hope this helps, and dont forget to put in the fuse after you are done, that was frustrating for a minute lol.
Other than that I have them fully installed and they look and perform great.
