ex head cylinder

i have d17a2 head cylinder.came off frum an EX...i want to swap my d17a1 head..and i wondering if the camshft can fit and the valve...to my d17a2 head cylinder>>???can please help me with this one ...thanks

Cam is different, valves are the same.

If what you are trying to say is you want to put the internals from the a1 head into the a2 head, it will not work.

As far as internals go, the valves, valve guides, springs, retainers, and keepers are all the same. The rocker arms's setup and cam is diifferent. Also all the ports are differnt sizes and major junk like that. Also, on the side you need a vtec selonid- something that you cant just bolt on- it needs to have ports on the side. Oh, and valve covers are the same.

So to answer the question, you need to buy a complete a2 head. dont try converting your a1 to an a2- no1's ever done this because its a waste of time and money (if possible) when a new head is what- 150 bucks out the forsale section? You'd pay that in valve guides alone if you tryed ordering all the parts from honda. Look in marketplace > forsale section- I know someone is selling a head at the moment.
