2 quick questions.
Edit: Okay, 3 questions.
97 civic:
1. How do I get my tires to shine like they do at the Lexus dealership?
2. Is there an easy and reliable way to clean the brake dust off the wheel covers without using brake cleaner?
3. I need new front bulbs. Where should I buy new ones? Should I avoid OEM and go for something better? Cost is a factor.
Thanks.

Re: 2 quick questions.
You guys are so silly. Of course I know about tire shine, it's just that the cars over at Honda and Lexus are like super glossy--wet look. I guess this has to do with the fact that brake dust gets all over the tires, and they need to be cleaned really well. I honestly don't know.

2) To clean off break dust, don't brake so hard or take your wheels off and clean them
3) Just get bulbs at napa or pepboys...whatever lights up.

Re: 2 quick questions.
yeaa well get a better tire shine. because my tires shine nice when i shine em.. dont by a no name brand.
and as for brake dust get low dust brake pads. (i think it was said but w.e)
yea i did my front and rear brakes and they didnt have the rears in low dust. so the rears were always dirty and the fronts were always clean... there you go..

Re: 2 quick questions.
if you want wet look, go with meguiars NXT tire shine but you have to scrub the tire first with soap and water and brush til they are clean. they dry, then spray on the shine. it will look very wet. i use it for shows, but normally for everyday michelin tire shine works well enough to keep them black.

I don't have 12.99'ers, I have AEM's on Brembo's. And I don't brake hard at all, I'm really gentle on my brakes. You're going to get brake dust no matter what. You see this on all cars--audi, BMW, Acura, whatever. The ceramics dust less but you sacrifice stopping power, which is bad.

ummm, Ceramics definetely do have more stopping power. Why else would they be a $16,000 option on a Ferrari. (no im not kidding, look it up. and yes, they do need to be warm to perform--and yes , im so gangster, i speak in rhymes)

Re: 2 quick questions.
12.99 for bulbs is cheap, i pay 45 for a set of pella's much brighter than stock, and a whole lot clearer, trust me i know, i have two 7th gens, one oem, one with pella's, there IS a difference

^best tire shine i've used. doesn't make your tires brown, and it really does last a couple weeks.
everything else has been covered.
