2003 civic si suspension. Is this normal?
Hello,
I just bought a 2003 civic si ( custom) about 3 weeks from a dealership, and I would like to know if it is normal for a civics suspension to be so hard, and bumpy when I drive over just about any kind of crack, manhole, very small holes on the road? I literally have to swerve around everything so that the civic doesn't
bounce, or sound like it ran over a huge hole. The civic that I bought was custom that came with alot of goodies from stereo system to lights, to hood. I assume the suspension that came with the civic is not original because the civic is lowered, and has 18`s tires, and rims. Im not and expert on after market parts, so I was wondering if anyone can help me out?

18's will ride rough, u will want to avoid potholes and the like, plus it prolly has a decent drop, which will contribute to the ride, take pics of everything, rims, suspension, all the mods that came with it, and we will try and identify them the best we can... this may help identify what ur concerns are, btw welcome to the site, and dont forget, there is a search button at the top of the page, use it, itll save u from gettin flamed, and be most helpful, because many of these subjects have been covered frequently

If it is lowered then you have to find out what parts are on the car. Likely, you are on springs with stock shocks and 18's, all which contribute the rough ride.

Hey! thanks for the welcome.
I was looking in the glove box, and found an instruction manual for a Koni suspension. On the manual there was an adjustable key, but I did not find one in the car. I looked under the car to see if the suspension is koni, but I could not tell. The rims on the civic are koni rims, but I guess that does not help me much.Anyway, The civic is lowered, and I had a co-worker come by my car when I was searching to find out what suspension I had, and he assured me that the suspension on my civic is lowered, and is adjustable when he looked at it. He also told me he was going to bring me that adjustable key. I guess he knows more about cars then I do.

if they're konis, you got a decent suspension on there. you may just need to tune it to your liking, and maybe eventually get some smaller wheels, with larger tires.

Koni doesnt make rims. the only thing I can think of that sounds like that is ikon rims, which makes me think the suspension isnt gonna be much better than the wheels. Take a rim off, take a picture of the spring and shock. Lets see whats in the car and go from there

Koni is some good shocks maan. lifetime warranty.
go to a good machanic shop and get it adjust to soft so u will have a better comfortable ride. (cuz u seens like u dont any idea wha to do)
good luck on ident. parts on ur car.
