FOG LIGHT/DRIVING LIGHT QUESTIONS

ok i did a search but i couldn't find the faq on how to install them (even looked in the mega post). so i have some questions.

1. which is better driving lights (white) or fog lights (amber)? i wouldn't mind hearing opinions in terms of which looks better but also which is more functional when driving in suboptimal conditions.

2. which power wire should i hook up to? on other cars i just used the parking lights but i found out that's illegal. i don't wanna run right off the battery either. any suggestions?

3. any thoughts on the remote control fogs/driving lights? i'm referring to the ones that don't require running a line through the firewall but use a remote control to turn on the lights.

4. should i drill into the bumper to install them or use the 3M tape?

5. coke or pepsi?

thanks!

1. white (personal pref)

2. you can hook it up straight to the battery with a switch between the power wire

3. have no experience w/ those

4. personal pref...if you wanna try the tape first then cool, you can always screw it in later

5. pepsi in a bottle & coke in a can

3. have never heard or used remote.

4. I would say try the tape. Only drill if it doesn't work good enough.

1) white

2) Fuse a wire off the battery to the lights, then run the ground wire up through the firewall to a switch on the dash, then ground it. Its much safer running a ground wire b/c even if it gets cut in the firewall, if the wire touches bare metal all that happens is the lights turn on...

3) never heard of them

4) tape, then drill

5) coke

1. white
2. no battery!! keep the engine compartment clean. if you look in the techmanual.. there should be a pin that feeds 12V for foglamps, alarm, etc.. run a switch to the lights.... and shorting out the HOT WIRE with the body?? i snaked my wires through the firewall by puncturing through the clutch rubber peice.
3. wireless remote switch for cars?? never heard of them
4. double sided molding tape and 1 screw. i've known some people who didnt want to drill a hole through their bumper and they just used tape only.... and what happend?? a few weeks later... his PIAA fell off! LOL!
5. coke or pepsi... alot of ice pls....

ohhh one more thing on question 2.

2. run the power from the accessory option.. (a male pin found near teh fuse box) and run a wire from the running lights for the signal and on that wire... put a switch for the foglamps... so what will happen once you accomplished this setup??? when you turn on your RUNNING LIGHTS and your FOG LAMP switch are on... your foglamps will turn on..... if you turn on your RUNNING LIGHTS and your FOG LAMP switch is off.. then your fog lamps are OFF! I find this feature really helpful is that once i leave my car at night... i'll turn my headlights off... once the headlights are off... it'll automaticly shut off the foglamps as well... thats the feature most car manufactures use.. headlights off... foglamps turn off... head lights on.... your foglamps will turn on if the FOGLIGHT switch is on.... White(won't see jack crap in rain and fog) if you just want more light, yellow(works better in fog) if you live in foggy areas. Just make sure you install it with a relay set-up. Yes you could use a remote kit. Look on ebay, they usally sell for about 10-30 bucks.
