Intake cam gear isn't adjusting right?
Intake cam gear isn't adjusting right?
I'll try to keep this short and sweet. Question for all you guys with k20 swaps and honda technicions. Car is running a K20Z1 in an 01 vic with hondata. Installed is skunk stage 2 cams with adjustable exhaust cam gear. My question is when I look at the datalog in hondata on the computer live it is showing me the the CAM angle is off which is leading me to think that the intake side which is adjustable by computer is not doing its job.(correct me if I'm wrong please) Is it possible that the cams from skunk weren't machined right and is missing oil passages robbing me of oil pressure? Or does it have to do with the skunk cam not lining up in the stock intake cam gear. According to hondata on the live screen lets say that the computer is saying that it should be at 25 degrees, I'm getting like 20 degrees off of what it is suppose to be. Oh and Vtec is engaging at like 4500 and doesn't turn off thats what I thought it was a first but its not.Any info or suggestions would help me please. Sorry for so long guys. Thanks in advance

check ur adjustable cam gear.. since you got the adjustable one it might be throwing the whole thing off... make sure the adjustment is at 0 degrees on the exhaust because the intake can only adjust so far before the exhaust maxes out... know what i mean..
exampple... lets say you tell kpro to advance 25 degrees.. the computer adjusts it to 25 degrees and thinks it is at 25 degrees...
now if you go in and adjust the exhaust and retard it 5 degrees... so computer might think its holding the cams at 25 degrees advanced but since the exhaust is at 5 degrees retard then the intake is at 20 degrees advacne..
of course i am throwing numbers around to kinda give you an idea of what i mean.. adjusting one has an effect on the other..
oh.. and how does ur vtec turn on then not turn off??.. explain
