door lock issue *can anyone check this on their civic*

Ok, so I believe my actuator went to ****.

When I am in the car, I try and use the lock button to lock my door and all that happens is the passanger side door locks but not the driver side. When I push the drivers side door lock the actual up and down peice it will lock the other door.

Can someone go out to their car and sit in it and use the lock/unlock to see if it will lock the drivers side door.. I want to put my alarm in but it will be useless if I have to use the key to lock/ unlock the doors and be more of a pain in the *** so yeah let me know what you can do for me.

Thanks alot.

-Wayne!

Re: door lock issue *can anyone check this on their civic*

if you push the lock button on the driver side door next to the handle (or the keyless remote) it should lock all the doors.

Re: door lock issue *can anyone check this on their civic*

if you are locking the doors from the inside then you have to pull on the drivers handle like you are opening the door in order for that door to lock. if your locking in from the outside and the door is closed and it doesnt lock then it is the actuator. but if it does there is no problem, you just have to remember to pull on the handle from the inside in order to lock the drivers door. i think it just a safety feature so you dont lock ur keys in it. i have owned to civics a 96 and an 04 and they are both the same way

Re: door lock issue *can anyone check this on their civic*

So let me get this straight ( I have the same issue ):

My keyless will NOT unlock / lock the driver side door, but if I do it from the inside only the passenger side works fine with no issues.

So do I need an actuator also? From what I am reading that means yes, but I'd like to be sure.

How hard is it to install this part?

i have the same exact issue. so basically a new acuator is in need? there's no way that i can just pull apart the door panel and spray it with a lil wd-40 and see if it'll work?
