A couple of questions about my 07 lx

First of all, hello everyone, this is my first post.

I purchased my 5 sp manual Galaxy Grey Civic LX sedan in March 07. Since the temperatures are really starting to climb here in the south, I have noticed that the air conditioner in my Civic does not seem to cool as well as the units in my other cars. While stopped, the vents are blowing warm air, and it takes a long time for the car to eventually cool down when driving down the road. Has anyone else experienced this?

The second question involves a surge or bog just after shifting into second gear. It does not happen all the time, but often enough to be a concern.

Other than these two quirks, I love this car. It has given me better fuel economy than any vehicle I have owned in my 25 years of driving!

Thanks for your help,
Lee

The surge in 2nd gear could be the Cold Start Problem. If you dont let the car warm up before taking off, it kicks like a rodeo.

If your AC isnt workin as good as it should, you might have a small leak in your Air Condensor. Go to your dealership and see if they can check it out for free.

Ebay Master,
Thanks for your quick reply. My Civic has this surge after the car is fully warmed up, even after driving 10 to 20 miles on a 90 degree day. The car never bucks or bogs when cold, but only after the temperature guage displays full operating temperature.

I agree about getting the AC checked by the dealership, but I just wanted to know if it is a true problem, or merely a general trait of the 2007 Civic lx. Does your car have cold air coming from the vents when you are at a stop?

Thanks agian!

For the A/C do you have the A/C button pressed? I know at first I didnt notice that and it was just blowing in air from outside. My previous truck only had 3 ***** to deal with for the A/C so all these buttons surprised me at first...

Jutty,
Thanks for your reply. I definitely have the AC button pressed, and it is illuminated. The air temperature coming from the vents is cooler than the outside air, but it takes a long time to cool the interior of the car. I mostly notice it really warming up when I am at a stop, but it just does not feel as cold as our other cars AC systems at any time.

well thats crappy....i guess taking it back would be the best course of action then...i usually turn on the A/C and after a few minutes turn the recirculation thing on...

Well my gf's A/C is always cold no matter what. So yours has a problem, take it back to the dealership as soon as you can to see if they can source the problem.

Re: A couple of questions about my 07 lx

I have the same issue with my A/C. When I am driving down the road it seems to cool, but as soon as I stop at a light it starts blowing warm air. I have to run with the max a/c button press in order to keep it cool or with my foot on the gas pedal to up the RPMs while sitting at a light. It also seems to stop cooling when excellerating. Quite a pain in Florida where the temps are in the 90's.
