I recently tightened my throttle cable and immediately notcied the maintanance light on? Is this just a coincident, or did I do something wrong? How do I run a check, or at least turn the light off?

I wonder what happened?? no insult meant, but are you sure that you tightened the throttle cable and not something else by accident? I tightened mine and that light never came up....i'd like to know too

on all the time or blinks at startup then turns off? The latter could just be a freaky coincedince...

if its on all the time, reverse your tightening and see what happens if it fixes, re-tighten the cable but maybe not as much as b4

How many miles are on your car? It could just be coincidence that you tightened your throttle cable around the same time your maintenence required light was due to come on to remind you of an oil change etc.. Are you right around 7,500 miles? I think that's when the first one comes on.

It comes on at 8,000 for the first service due at 10,000
To turn it off hold in the odometer button and turn your car on and keep holding until it stops flashing... when you turn your car off and back on it wont flash anymore

Why on Earth would you tighten the throttle cable? Does it have some benefit I'm not aware of?

silverdevil, don't you know it's an automatic increase of 20 hp?? where have you been, man?

seriously though, tightening the throttle cable gives the gas pedal an increased amount of sensitivity (takes away the slack) and for my car pretty much all i have to do is rip a mean fart and my baby is off and running (courtesy of taco bell of course)

To track milage it ...

Flashes upon startup after 7,500 miles ....
Remains on constantly after 10,000 miles .....

It's been a while, but from what I remember
to reset the maintenance light ... it must
be in the manual too ?!?!?

Push the reset trip button.
Hold in.
Turn car on.
Continue to hold 30 or 45 sec.
Now start the car.
No more problems for 7,500 miles.

Hope this helps ....
