ok i noticed for a few weeks that when i started my car the maint. reqd light would flash for a few secs and then go off. i figured it was normal but, now i'm guessing it's not. today when i got in the car and started it the light stayed on. the car (04 coupe) drives fine. i noticed my oil change is due in about 400 miles. is this what the light is for? an oil change reminder of some sort. i know my 97 has the little thing at the bottom of the cluster where it goes from green to red when your getting close to an oil change. does anyone have any input on this? also, if this is an oil change reminder type thing will it go off when i change the oil? also, i plan on changing to a synthetic oil. is there anything that needs to be done before or just change it right. any input is appreciated.

yeah. its crazy the **** they do now. i recently read a post about how a guy went in for an oil change and they told him all kinda stuff was screwed up. oh well. the lite is now off and i will be changing the oil and switching to synthetic on my next off day. thanks again guys.
