Lowering a stock civic NEED HELP!
Lowering a stock civic NEED HELP!
i have a 03 EX Coupe with 15" SI rims and i want to lower it so that it will look better because the fender gap is too high =[ so what should i do first? a friend told me just to buy springs with a camber kit, will it not blow the stock shocks if i don't lower it too much? i pretty much just drive everyday driving... so yeah , any ideas?
Re: Lowering a stock civic NEED HELP!
I have had mine lowered with eibach springs on stock shocks/ struts for a couple years now. My car looks great, and handles a bit better than stock. Your stock shocks will be fine as long as when you install them you cut the bump stops. If you dont have much money then springs will do the trick, and hey I will sell you my sportlines for 100 + shipping if you want I just bought some coilovers.

Re: Lowering a stock civic NEED HELP!
You have 3 options, full coilovers(shocks and springs, height adjustable), sleeved springs(height adjustable) or lowering springs which are set at a certain height after they settle. With the lowering springs and stock shocks as long as you dont overdue the drop, it wont blow your shocks. But then again even with no drop there is always chance of blowing shocks by driving over bumps like you own a rally car lol. My car was lowered on springs and stock shocks and it survived for a year without blown shocks. THey only recently blew cuz of a huge bump and pothole in this shithole of a city we call Toronto. THe one thing i dont recomend is the sleeved springs as they will have horrible ride quality because of the stiffness and ull be tempted to lower too much and end up blowing a shock or two.
