Noob: Questions about OBD2 and Check Engine Light
Noob: Questions about OBD2 and Check Engine Light

Recently I hit a pot hole and right afterwards my "Check Engine" Light came on..
I hooked it up to an OBD2 gadget and it said "P1362." which means "No Signal In TDC1 Sensor Circuit"
I reset my check engine light by removing the negative battery hookup for a few seconds to see if maybe it was just an accidental trigger due to hitting the pothole.
Started it up and drove it around the block a couple times and the "Check engine" light didn't pop back on.
I am wondering if it would pop back on if it was a real error, or if it would just stay off. I can see it flash when i start the car, so i know the light is working.

eventually it'll probably come back on. the TDC sensor is on the side of the head next to the cam gear. either the harness is loose, or the sensor is on the fritz.

sorry, since this WAS a 7thgen specific site, we're all still thinking that everyone posts regarding a distributorless 1.7L honda, especially if they dont specify what it is they are talking about. For the older D series, yes, the cam angle sensor is part of the distributor.

Bah, I read it real fast when I was sitting in class. Mr. ASE got it all straightened out.
