Recommended Weekend Warrior Coilover Kit for 2005 EX Sedan
Hi,
I've been looking through these forums (which are great BTW) and can't find exactly what I'm looking for. I essentially can't stand the way my 2005 Civic handles. I realize that I have the opportunity to enhance the handling of my vehicle and would like to start by installing a coilover kit, based on the recommendations I've seen in this forum. However, I can't find suggestions for my specific application (as I might decide to do some auto-x on the weekend).
What's "the best" (in your honest opinion) coilover kit I should purchase? My budget is approximately $1200 (not including the installation cost). Again, I'm looking for something I can daily drive with (I'm pretty tolerant of stiff suspensions. In fact I prefer it to the softer ride, but don't want it rock hard), but also something I can carve corners with. I'm also aware that there are other aspects of improving my suspension, all of which will come after the coilover installation (unless I'm wrong on this one).
For the most part, I've only looked at one site (dezod.com). Seems like several folks have recommended them, and it seems like they actually have stuff for 05 civics.
Lastly, I'd also like to know if coilovers require any kind of modification (like cutting) to install.
Thanks!

there is no such thing as the best of anything. Decide what you want and roll with it. Searching reveals the answer to every one of those questions, and most of it is in the FAQ, its a weekly question...

You want to improve your cars handling for $1200?
Easy.
Step 1. Buy the grippiest tires you can. Kumho MX, Falken RT-615's and the like
Step 2. Buy a camber kit
Step 3. Get a good NON-OEM aligment.
Step 4. Enjoy your cars new found enthusiasim for turning.
Remember, your tires are the only thing touching the ground (hopefully) so they are the one part that will ultimatly determin how much grip you have in any given turn. Every thing else on your suspension is just there to maximize the use of said tires.
