HELP! i'm doing the front springs, and the tie rod

won't come off of the ... shock tower.. i tried using a tie rod seperator, but all that's succeeded in doing, is pushing.. grease out of the rubber thing between the tie rod and where it meets the tower... someone advise asap, what else i can do..

put the fork in there and twist...if that dont work, bang it in with a hammer, those are tight suckers...oh ya, do this first so there isnt as much stress on it, it pops off much easier.

Just take a hammer and hit it where i marked in the picture. Hit it hard. It will seperate. Just DO NOT try to hit the tie rod, you will screw it up.

what can hitting the tie rod do. I think when my friend was doin that side he may of hit it cause when it rain and snows, my handling is horrible. Im almost afraid to drive then. If that is the case, is there anything to do bout it?

Well, if you hit the tie rod from below to try and knock it out, you are probably going to break it, which will cause sloppy steering. To check your tie rods, jack the car up, grab the wheel on the left and right sides and check for play (side to side). If you got some play, you need a new tie rod end and an alignment. If there is no play, you probably just need an alignment.

welp, all done, tho i think i need new tie rod ends now.. doh.. or else it needs to go in just a lil more, but when parked if i move the wheel side to side it's chunk chunk, ah well, guess i'll go get some and put them on when i put the camber kit on...

Tie rod ends are about $30-40 each probably.

Sorphin: That noise is proably just the spring sliding into its seats.

I found em at http://slhondaparts.com under the "P.S. GEAR BOX" heading. Part #53541-S5A-003 END, TIE ROD $32.40

You would just need the end, not the whole tie rod.
