DIY for adjusting TPS?
Any one have a DIY for adjusting the TPS? And before you start. I have a TB that was bored from MaxBore.com and you can adjust it. The only thing I found was it should send 4.5 volts at wide open. My problem is that at wide open I get a CEL about too high. I did the relearn after installing so my idle is good. And if it is in the service manual could you point me to the right place I did not see anything in the index under TPS. Even numbers for voltage or resistance would be good. This is new ground for me.

if you have service manual, it should say in there. idk, i never got mine to work either, it kept giving me sensor voltage too high and my car would barely drive home. the weird thing is it drove fine for a few months and then wouldnt work at all.

Thanks gearbox. I was hoping you would chime in. I will have to take another look at the book. I have only had it in for a week or two. Car seems to drive fine but I hate the light. I will probably compare readings with my original stock also.

Re: DIY for adjusting TPS?
hook it up to a DMM and check the sweep, make sure there arent any breaks in the circuit. One of the guys at my shop ended up with the same problem and all he did to fix it was buy an "adjustable" aftermarket TPS.

Re: DIY for adjusting TPS?
Checked resistance on original TPS. Very different from ported TB. Attempted to adjust TPS to original TB settings. Could not get it low enough. Played with the stop and the TPS a bit. I think I fixed the high problem. Going to have to drive a little bit and see what happens. After first adjustment had some weird idle problems. Thank god for cold air intakes make getting the TB off a piece of cake.

Re: DIY for adjusting TPS?
i took my tb off a while back and now my idle is weird. sometimes it idles at 1300 and sometimes its fine. i was thinking it was voltage problems since my alt. is fried but even when i get 14 volts it still idles funny.

Re: DIY for adjusting TPS?
Well fixed high problem, but horrible idle. Car would jump to 2000 and when driving at constant speed would jerk. I took it back off last night after babying it home. Turned the screw all the way back out. Set the TPS to, I think, 6.48 on the resistance. It was 6.52 when it came back. Drove around this morning. Does not seem to have any problems yet. Did the idle learn after it warmed up. Hoping to understand the DigiMoto software so I can do some real tuning and not just use other people's VAFCII settings.

Re: DIY for adjusting TPS?
yea when pulling the tb off, after everything is back you gotta do idle learn. when car is warmed up, turn off and pull out ecu fuse or battery. put back and start car, let idle 10 mins without pressing gas or using any accessory. leave hood closed. after 10 mins turn off. start car again and go drive, should be fine.
Re: DIY for adjusting TPS?
I just went through all that with my mechanic after we had the engine out for a wire tuck. We fiddled with everything, checking voltages and all that to try to fix the idle.
I guess these TPS sensors are fairly fragile, and if they get knocked or bumped too hard they stop sending signal. Honda wanted something crazy like $650 to replace the entire throttlebody because they don't sell the TPS seperate for some reason.
We found an aftermarket TPS sensor from Streetimports.com and it fixed the problem first shot.
