springs, struts or coilovers?
I just bought new wheels so now I have to drop the car. The wheels are 18 inch and my car is a 2005 Civic coupe. The problem is I can't figure out how I want to go with the suspension for the price. All prices below are Canadian currency.
Option 1 - Springs. I could get just springs installed for $435, that's with $250 for the install. Should I just not be stupid and read the directions myself? Then it's a $200 option + whatever the installer charges. Or do it myself like I said. The problem with this is it'll kill my struts after about a year so I hear. Will I get more than a year? Anyone else doing this? Should I even bother?
Option 2 - Springs and struts. I can get this installed for about $900 with a wheel alignment as well. This way I won't have to worry about killing the struts, but it's an extra $450, should I worry about it?
Option 3 - Coilovers. This is the ultimate option but I don't think it's worth it. I don't mind driving my car in the winter with a 2 inch drop, I'll just use the OEM wheels again. I got quoted $1400 for these installed, is there a cheaper place for them? I mean ones that work, not the Tenzo crap I heard about. I heard someone say they paid $900 for theirs, I'll see if I can find out where from.
Any other comments? Please help, wheels are being installed tomorrow so I want to 4x4 it for as little as possible.

Get struts....I was just told by my shop that mine have maybe a month left. and I only have a 1.3" drop for about 2 years. if you got a 2" drop you'll blow yours in no more than year.
if i were u I rather just get H&R or GC springs for now.....get a decent drop or somthing...
then once i have enough money then get Koni's struts....
actually u knw wat i dont have to be u in order to do that....I'm buying H&R springs next week and dropping my ride 1.75" all around....
will buy Koni struts in couple of month or somthing.....

Dude, install it yourself!!! Your really wasting a lot of money having someone install it. TO be honest, even if u dont have tools, u could buy them and probably be better off then paying a shop to install em. Here is a video I came across over a quick search.

Personally, I'd look into what tein has to offer. Your suspension really depends on what you want to do with the car, ask yourself that first.

i'm doing eibach pro kit springs and tokico blues. you'll need a camber kit too either way. do the spring, strut, and camber kit install yourself and then take it somewhere for an alignment.

^^ werds on that. If you want to pay someone to work on your car, pay them for an alignment.
