2002 Si Fuel consumption

Whats the general fuel consumption per mile with a normal 2002 Si Civic?
Im only getting around 24 now which I believe is bad since the EPA suggust around 26 or 27.

What would cause this?

fuel consumption

Even though your car is new, possible reasons for low mpg may be due to a bad air filter. If you haven't checked that, I would reccomend you do it; if the air filter is clogged, you could find new ones at any car store.

It is normal for cars to get less than what it says because lots of factors come into play such as the air filter like raven said, temp, elavation and many others.

Yes thats why I dont like those fuel consumption guesses, they are usually so wrong.
Even one thing wrong with the car can affect it, or the ignition timing or the weather where are you.

They might also be exaturating (sp).... there are a lot of things that you could be doing differently. The temperature comes into play as well, so let it warm up before you take off on cold mornings.

I take Really good care of my Si. I just turned 50,000. I bought it brand new with 4.2 miles on it. I love it! It drives like a go-cart. The BEST car I've ever owned!

Sounds awesome.
I hope it goes faster than a go kart

as long as you look after it like you have been theres no reason why it still wont be driving that well when it hits 150k miles.

When are you going to run it down the 1/4?
Or are you going to do more mods first?

Hahaha no more mods planned. I don't know when I'll be at the track. Sometime this summer.
