DRL electrical woes ... How screwed am I?

2001 Acura EL.... (Cross posting from Electrical forum, and CSI... sorry guys, need an answer )

After going to Krown for my rustproofing, I've been having nothing but ****ing problems....

The suspension feels nice and quiet, and smooth, from all the lube.

Just this wkend I replaced a ****ing fog light bulb that burnt out... $55 + $10 labour

Now my DRL is ****ed.... When I turn on the car and release the handbrake, the DRL goes on automatically... I then hear this ****ed up screeching noise coming from behind the glove box, and won't shut up until I turn on my lights (full on). Turn off the lights (back to DRL), I'm ok, sometimes I'm ****ed with the noise again... intermittent. Usually noise....

I already checked my DRL fuses, and headlight fuses...all ok. No leakage of oil into the fuse box under the hood that I could tell.

The passenger side headlight also takes longer now (about 2 seconds) to turn on.... and when that screeching-like noise is blaring, the DRL light also kinda flickers on the dash...

Lube up for **** rapage @ the stealership?!

Any ideas?

^ Sounds like you've got some wires that are shorted out probably from oil, etc. being applied in the wrong spots. Only thing you can do is find out exactly where that noise is coming from and follow any wires that are hooked up to ur lighting system.

And you got ripped off hard if you paid $65 dollars to replace a foglight bulb.

Since you werent able to replace the foglight bulb yourself, you may have to take the car in again to get the electrical probelm trouble shooted.

You could check the solder connections inside of the DRL module.

It should be an easy fix if so.

My guess is the DRL module is shorting. Try pulling both the DRL fuses and see if the buzzing stops.

I got raped for the $65 fog bulb replacement because it's a PIAA 1400x bulb. $10 labour, $55 for a friggen custom H3 bulb: 1400X bulbs are encased inside the glass shell and ceramic base. Burn a bulb, replace the entire thing.

It stopped making the noise recently, so I think I'm screwed with an intermittent issue.... Alternatively I could just pull the DRL fuse and thus, never activating the issue. But I like my DRL....

I found links online about cracked soldering points within the DRL module... What a bitch

Where IS the DRL module?

Are you referring to the DRL relay, or the DRL module? There seems to be both a relay, and a module...

Seems alot of people are aware of poor solder joints...
