help! spring problems

hey i was just wondering if springs would ever stop popping. i put tein springs on my stock suspension (i know i should have gotten the struts and all but i didnt) but since i had them on they still havent stopped popping. is it just the springs wont settle or still not settled yet or is it a problem. its when ever i turn my wheel to the left or right alot. if i put wd-40 on my struts then it stops for a while but other then that it wont stop popping. can someone please help!

sounds like you didnt replturn the strut mount to the proper position...it could be moving in its place, or the spring isnt seated properly snug on the perch itself. also.. spring could be letteing the suspension bottom out on bumps...therefore...your bumpstop need to be replaced. or put back on. i didnt have any when i dropped my car with coil...and it was a rough ride for a couple weeks..then i bought new one from Honda...trimmed them...now good! but a small popping is still coming from my strut mount... since i removed the strut mount with the bearings. i just lube it up with a super slick grease monthly. try these out...should fix it.....

i'd put money on your struts not being re-assembled correctly. you have to line them up the way that you took them apart. take your front shocks back off, take them apart, then line up the arrows on the top of the shock. then where those arrows are at, line them up with the part that faces outward, not sure what that arm is called, but thats what you line them up with. This problem is common with spring installs.

they will blow, yes, or be damaged in some other way, but you could also cause damage to more than just ur shocks (your springs, other suspension components, other car components). check around the for sale threads for aftermarket shocks. you could also look at some reputable online dealers, like some of the 7thgencivic.com sponsors.

tein is a solid route that a lot of people go, i use tein springs on my car and love them. the tein basics are a good choice, you can get them for around $800. if your not looking to spend that much, just get tokico blues for around $400.

in the end, make sure you research what you put on your car so you know what you are getting.

struts and shocks are the same thing. you would be fine just getting the shocks since you already have springs, cheaper way would be tokicos, more expensive would be koni sports, tokico d specs, or some other springless shock deal.
just dont go cheap, you really do get what you pay for.

Like 03logic said struts and shocks are the same thing. Tokico blues will be fine. Many people have them and are happy with them.
