Tach:
1. Start the car with the key.
2. Within 5 seconds, press and hold the programming button (valet button).
3. LED will light constant if tach signal is learned.
4. Release button.
The other ones are harder to immediately diagnose. What do you mean by window switch lights? It's not likely the alarm could trip an oil light if it was installed properly.

the window switch illumination blinks as well as the check oil light... its consistant with the led badge i installed (when the badge blinks "viper", the other lights blink also) if it is backfeeding how would i resolve it?
thanks for the help on the tach prog.

Hmmm, yeah backfeeding seems a likely culprit. Tough to just add a diode and hope for the best since the Viper light badge is a diode. Ok, a few more specific questions. Do you mean to say that your LED badge, check oil light, and window switch illumination all blink together when the alarm is armed? Are there issues when the alarm isn't armed? The only window switch light I know of is the little word AUTO on the left window switch, is that what you're referring to?
The first step might be to disconnect the LED badge and see what that does for you. Also, how did you hook the badge up, did you go right to the LED output on the brain of the unit (blue and red wires)? Or did you hook it up some other way. I would also recommend checking the ground for the entire alarm, make sure it's a solid ground (not loose, paint-free surface), preferably in the kick panel but other places are acceptable.

Is the badge ground hooked up to the orange ground when armed of the alarm or is it just grounded? Where is the + lead of the badge hooked?
You could try separating your grounds or try adding a diode to the ground of the windows to see if that eliminates that (band of diode toward windows.) I've never put a diode on a ground, you'll get a voltage drop so hopefully it's not too bad. I personally think it should be possible to fix this without adding diodes but it's hard to say. This is most likely a grounding backfeed that could be eliminated by moving grounds, making sure none are loose, all grounds are paint-free, etc.
