converting auto to manual
converting auto to manual
I wanna convert my 02 civic ex from auto to manual... i wanna swap in a k20 too and i cant do that with an auto trans. Can i leave some parts out that i would need for the auto-manual conversion if i get the k20 done at the same time to save time and $? Or should i just do the auto-manual conversion then just do the k20 seperatly even though to swap it in id be taking out stuff that i just put in for the conversion?

well d17 and k20 dont use the same tranny. if you wanna swap auto to manual then you gotta buy the tranny and all other parts. then to swap a k20 you got to buy another tranny as with the motor.
just wait for the new motor and tranny instead of putting a manual in your autos place. waste of money

yep, if you're going to do a k20 swap anyway... just wait a bit longer and save the money. Only thing you'd be keeping would be the clutch/brake pedal, master cylinder, etc. so it wouldnt hurt to get the parts first?

see i thought about that, but then i was like imma just save up some money, then when i buy a new car it will be a manual and i can go from there. But that sounds like a heck of alot of money what u r tryin to do. but eh, what do i know
